Schloss accepts a limited number of private commissions throughout the year.

Each commission is a one-of-one piece created in collaboration with the client and designed specifically for the garment it inhabits. Because every design is illustrated and executed by hand, availability is limited.

The Process

01. Concept & Proposal

Every project begins with a conversation. Share your ideas, inspiration, and garment preferences, and we’ll develop a proposed direction alongside an estimated timeline and price. Commissions start at $250 and typically range from $250-325 depending on the scope of embroidery.

02. Garment Selection

You may provide your own garment or work with Schloss to source a piece from existing inventory. Providing your own garment is encouraged, as it allows you to select a piece whose fit you already know and love. We will not embroider on suede, leather, or extremely delicate silk.

03. Existing Designs

Found a design on the Schloss website that you love? Select a different garment and make it your own. Existing Schloss designs can be recreated on an alternative garment, with pricing matching the original design’s listed price.

04. Sketches & Revisions

Each commission includes one round of sketch revisions. Additional rounds are available for $100 per round. The more clarity and detail you provide at the outset, the more efficiently we can arrive at a final design. References, placement preferences, and thoughtful consideration of your vision are encouraged.

05. Deposit & Production

A $50 nonrefundable deposit is required to secure your commission and begin the design process. The remaining balance will be due according to the agreed-upon payment terms before your piece ships.

06. Creative Direction

A Schloss commission is an invitation to collaborate with our creative vision. Each design interprets your ideas through the distinctive Schloss aesthetic; commissions are not intended to replicate another designer’s work or execute highly prescriptive designs. Schloss reserves the right to reinterpret suggestions or decline requests that fall outside our creative direction. By commissioning Schloss, you’re entrusting us to bring your concept to life in our signature style.

07. Delivery

Every piece is made by hand and carefully packaged for shipment. Please allow approximately 2–6 weeks for production and shipping, depending on the scope of the project and the time of year.
